Our Mission

At Cornerstone Concrete, we believe that every project is an opportunity to serve our community and glorify God. We strive to build strong and lasting foundations for our clients, just as Jesus Christ is the cornerstone of our faith.

Stamped Concrete

Stamped concrete is a decorative concrete surface that has been patterned and textured to resemble natural stone, brick, slate, or other materials. The stamping process involves pressing rubber stamps onto freshly poured or existing concrete and then adding color and sealant to enhance the overall appearance and durability of the surface. Stamped concrete is a popular choice for outdoor patios, walkways, and driveways due to its versatility, low maintenance requirements, and long-lasting performance.

Exposed Aggregate

Exposed aggregate is a type of decorative concrete that is created by removing the top layer of cement paste to reveal the underlying aggregate materials, such as stones, pebbles, shells, or glass. This process results in a textured, non-slip surface that is visually appealing and can add character to any outdoor or indoor space. Exposed aggregate can be customized with a variety of colors, sizes, and shapes of aggregates to create a unique and personalized look. It is a popular choice for pool decks, driveways, and walkways due to its durability and low maintenance requirements.

Waterproofing

Waterproofing concrete is a process of making concrete surfaces impervious to water or moisture penetration. This is typically done by applying a waterproof coating or sealant on the surface that creates a barrier to prevent water from seeping into the concrete. Waterproofing concrete is important to prevent structural damage, corrosion of reinforcing steel, and the growth of mold or mildew. It is commonly used in areas such as basements, swimming pools, roofs, and foundations, where water infiltration can cause significant damage. There are various waterproofing products available, including liquid membranes, sheet membranes, and cementitious coatings, which can be selected based on the specific requirements and conditions of the project.

Sidewalks

When fixing a sidewalk, Cornerstone Concrete typically follows a process that involves several steps. First, we would assess the damage to the sidewalk and determine the cause of the problem. This could involve identifying any underlying issues, such as poor drainage or soil erosion.

Next, we would remove any damaged or uneven sections of the sidewalk, using tools such as jackhammers or saws. We would then prepare the area by leveling the ground and ensuring that it is compacted and stable.

After the area is prepared, Cornerstone Concrete would pour new concrete to fill in the gaps and create a smooth, level surface. We would ensure that the new concrete matches the color and texture of the existing sidewalk as closely as possible.

Finally, we would apply a sealer to protect the surface from moisture, stains, and UV rays. We would also ensure that the repaired section meets all relevant building codes and safety standards.

Throughout the process, Cornerstone Concrete would ensure that the project is completed within the agreed timeline and budget, and that the client is satisfied with the final result.

Patios

Cornerstone Concrete follows a step-by-step process when working on a patio project. First, we will survey the site and take measurements to determine the size and shape of the patio. Then, we will prepare the ground by removing any existing materials and ensuring that the soil is level and compacted. The next step is to install forms or molds to outline the shape of the patio.

After the forms are in place, we pour and level the concrete mixture, incorporating any desired color or texture additives. Depending on the project, we may use a stamping process to create a textured design on the surface. Once the concrete is cured, we remove the forms and apply a sealer to protect the surface from moisture, stains, and UV rays.

During the project, we may also install additional features such as steps, walls, or fire pits, based on the client’s specifications. Cornerstone Concrete will ensure that the patio meets all relevant building codes and safety standards and that the project is completed within the agreed timeline and budget. Finally, we will clean up the site, leaving the finished patio ready for use.

Driveways

Driveway concrete work typically involves several steps. First, Cornerstone Concrete will survey the site and determine the dimensions and layout of the driveway. We will also assess the site’s slope and any drainage issues that need to be addressed.

Next, CC will excavate the area to create a level base for the driveway. This may involve removing any existing materials, such as asphalt or gravel, and compacting the soil to ensure stability.

Once the base is prepared, we will install forms or molds to outline the shape of the driveway. We will then mix and pour the concrete mixture, making sure to level the surface and smooth out any air pockets.

After the concrete is cured, CC will remove the forms and use a finishing tool to create a smooth surface. We may also use a stamping process to create a textured design on the surface if desired.

Finally, Cornerstone Concrete will apply a sealer to protect the surface from moisture, stains, and UV rays. We also ensure that the driveway meets all relevant building codes and safety standards.

Throughout the process, Cornerstone Concrete will ensure that the project is completed within the agreed timeline and budget, and that the client is satisfied with the final result.

Customer reviews

See what our clients are saying about us!

My experience with CornerStone Concrete was amazing. I have NEVER met contractors who were so eager to please! They went out of their way to make sure my job was the most important job they had, and were super polite, honest and sincere. I almost gave up on my dream of a stamped patio due to the cost from other companies. I’m so glad that I contacted CornerStone Concrete. Albert gave me a fair price and went above and beyond every expectation that I had. I now have the stamp patio of my dreams! I am planning to have CornerStone Concrete do some more work for me in the near future!

The workmanship was outstanding. The men worked so extremely hard and solved problems that arose due to our rocky and tree rooted terrain. Communicated well with us on their progress. They went above and beyond for us. Absolutely wonderful!

Albert, the owner of Cornerstone Concrete, did a phenomenal job for us for our concrete slab for our patio. After 10 months of frustration with another contractor, we decided to cut our losses and I contacted Cornerstone Concrete, spoke with Albert, and he was able to get us leveled and poured within a week. I was very impressed with his attention to detail, promptness and quality of work. I would recommend him to anyone and will use him for future projects going forward.

We own a hotel in downtown Bucksport, Maine and had an unfortunate event… a very large retaining wall cap (about 45 feet of it, parts of it graduating to 15’18’ off the ground) had, over 20 + years of time, begun to separate from the wall and had to be removed. Albert, the Owner of Cornerstone Concrete, was one of several businesses I interviewed for the job. From the outset, he was prompt, enthusiastic, very nice, knowledgable and very reasonable and was willing to take this job, despite it not being in his area of expertise (retaining walls, I have learned are essentially a specialty and few want to deal with them). But Albert saw the issue that had created this in the first place and had an EXCELLENT plan to fix it…truly fix it, which involved a lot of hard work, cutting below the break line, cleaning up the mess, then rebuilding this monstrous cap and taking on the challenges that came with it, including the seemingly impossible task of building vertical forms and installing hardware to ensure this would last. Even when a part of this very difficult job had a small issue, Albert delayed a trip with family to make certain things came out right. He and his crew fixed the small issue and then came back and went performed the rest of the work per contract to make the wall look perfect, but Albert went WELL ABOVE AND BEYOND the contract (after blending the new cap with the old wall, he added extra work to the job (painting this wall) but he wanted the entire basement of the building to match this newly painted wall, so the job would have that extra bit of perfection….AND THAT IT DOES! His work came out better than expected and on time despite the slight delay and the extra work. We have received multiple compliments on the newly repaired wall and our guest safety and aesthetic look have been restored. I quite literally cannot say enough about Albert and his crew. Their work is second to none and I will recommend them time and again to anyone with a need for concrete work! Excellent work, excellent character, efficient, on time and schedule and very reasonably priced! I have owned hotels for 20 + years and deal with contractors constantly. Albert and his crew stand high above most!
